Cleaning Silicone Bath Toys: An Eco-Friendly & Simple Solution

Aug 26, 2024

There's nothing cuter than our Bear & Moo Silicone Bath Toys, but there's nothing worse than bath toys gathering mould.

So... how do we suggest looking after our Silicone Bath Range, to keep them sparkling?

Well firstly, not only are our Boating Bears, Bath Squirts, Bird Squirters & Ice Creams the cutest in town, but they all pop apart for easy access cleaning - meaning there will be no crevice left un-touched once you are finished with the below routine!

Secondly, white vinegar is officially your new best friend. This baby is a natural disinfectant + antibacterial gem that is gentle on surfaces, tough on grime, and won't leave any harsh chemicals or residues! Plus, it's a panty staple - so it's pretty likely you already have it on hand.

So without further ado, here are the steps you'll need...

Cleaning your Bear & Moo Silicone Bath Toys:

1. Take all silicone toys apart, so they're all in 2 pieces
2. Give each piece a quick rinse under warm water
3. Mix equal parts of vinegar and warm water in a bowl/sink
4. Submerge all the toys as best you can
5. Leave for 1 hour for best results & any grime should start disappearing!
6. Optional: Going over each toy with a soft-bristled tooth-brush or cloth can help to remove any stubborn build-up
7. Rinse thoroughly with warm water
8. Air-dry your sparkling clean Bath Toys in a spot with good air-flow and/or a little sunshine.

And there you have it!

Cleaning these toys with vinegar is our preferred method to keep little ones safe & healthy... but you may find another method works best for you, in which case feel free to drop it in the blog post comments below!

May your bath times be fun & your bath toys be sparkling!
